Leadership

The people behind
TerraVox

TerraVox Ventures is led by operators who have spent decades inside agriculture — from family farms to global distribution — and who know that execution, not capital alone, closes the adoption gap.

Our approach

“You know how ag tech startups struggle to get their breakthrough solutions in front of the right farmers and partners? At TerraVox, we help them cross the market adoption gap by connecting strategy to execution — bridging the lab to the farm gate with the relationships, discipline, and commercial pathways innovators need to scale.”

— Monica Phillips

Light, strategy, execution

Bring clarity and disciplined follow-through to ag innovators navigating complex markets.

Lab to farm gate

Bridge the gap between breakthrough science and commercial adoption — market access remains the biggest barrier.

25+ years of industry experience and relationships spanning family farms to global distribution networks.

Regenerative acceleration

Accelerate the adoption of regenerative agriculture through ethical, sustainable commercial pathways.

Backstory

From Iowa soil to institutional scale

Roots

Fourth-generation Iowa farm

Monica Phillips grew up on a fourth-generation family farm in Central Iowa — grounded in the soil, seasons, and stewardship that shape how she evaluates every venture.

Conviction

A father's lesson

When her father faced cancer, he offered words that became a north star: "Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something." That conviction still drives how TerraVox backs founders others overlook.

Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something.

Leadership

First-generation trailblazer

She became a first-generation female leader in FFA and local agricultural organizations — building the grassroots credibility that still informs her farmer-first approach.

Education

Science meets agronomy

After brief studies in psychology and neuroscience, Monica earned an agronomy degree from Iowa State University — combining human behavior insight with deep crop science.

Corporate

Two decades at Pioneer

Over 20+ years at Pioneer and DuPont, she led across sales, marketing, and executive leadership — earning a reputation for turning outdated systems into high-performing organizations.

Entrepreneurship

Building on her own terms

She left corporate life to build independently — navigating startup chaos, turnarounds, and the hard work of shuttering businesses with integrity when paths closed.

AgriLuminate

Founder, market bridge

As founder of AgriLuminate, Monica spent years helping agricultural innovators bring breakthrough technology to market ethically and sustainably — the same bridge TerraVox now extends at institutional scale.

Vision

A living innovation lab

Her long-term vision: buy back the family farm as a living innovation lab for regenerative agriculture — where theory meets practice on the ground she knows best.
